YouTube without the algorithm.
MeTube is an iOS and visionOS app that turns YouTube into a chronological, podcast‑style inbox. Follow the channels you care about, mark videos as watched or skipped, and stop when you’re done.
Not affiliated with YouTube or Google. Videos and metadata are provided by YouTube and remain subject to YouTube’s terms.
New uploads in order.
Inbox reaches zero.
Stay on track.
iPhone ↔ Vision Pro.
Designed for focus — not infinite scroll
MeTube keeps the core convenience of YouTube, while removing the parts that are engineered to keep you watching.
Chronological channel feeds
See new videos from followed channels in time order. No recommendations, “Up next”, or tracking-based feed.
Podcast-style inbox
Treat new uploads like episodes. When you’ve consumed what’s new, your list ends — so you can stop naturally.
Watched & skipped tracking
Mark videos as watched or skipped so you don’t keep re-deciding what to watch every time you open the app.
Resume where you left off
Playback position can be synced via iCloud/CloudKit (in your private iCloud database) to continue across devices.
iOS, visionOS
A consistent library across iPhone and Vision Pro. The same follow list, the same “inbox” feel.
Minimal by default
No ads from MeTube, no selling your data, and no attempt to build a “profile” to manipulate what you see.
Simple flow, predictable results
A small set of intentional choices, repeated.
Sign in with Apple
Creates a private MeTube account and keeps your follow list in sync across devices.
Follow channels
Add the channels you actually care about. MeTube fetches each channel’s public feed.
Consume new uploads
Watch in chronological order — like a queue, not a slot machine.
Mark watched or skipped
Clear the inbox. When it’s empty, you’re done — no “recommended for you” trap.
Privacy is part of the product
MeTube is built to be useful without becoming invasive. Here’s the short version — the full details are in the Legal section.
What MeTube stores
- Sign in with Apple identifier (Apple subject ID) to authenticate your account.
- Channel IDs you choose to follow, plus basic account timestamps.
- Operational logs required for security and reliability (e.g., request metadata).
- Watch status / playback position via CloudKit in your private iCloud database.
What MeTube does not do
- No selling of personal data.
- No advertising network / ad-tech tracking.
- No “recommendation profile” based on what you watch.
- No requirement to share your Google/YouTube account credentials with MeTube.
Built for long content
MeTube starts with a distraction-free subscription workflow. Next, it will lean further into “long-form” features.
Book & reading links
Attach reading material to a video: books, articles, references — turning “watch later” into “learn later”.
Fact-check links
Optional links and notes for a given video, so claims can be checked without opening a dozen tabs.
More “podcast app” affordances
Better queues, more filters, and more ways to organize what you follow — without turning it into a feed.
Roadmap items are directional and may change based on feasibility and platform constraints.
Common questions
Is MeTube a YouTube replacement?
MeTube is a client for watching YouTube videos from channels you choose to follow, presented in a calmer way. It does not try to replicate every feature of YouTube and it intentionally avoids recommendation mechanics.
Do I need a Google/YouTube account?
No. MeTube does not ask for your Google password. You can follow channels by ID and watch their public uploads. A MeTube account (via Sign in with Apple) is used to sync your follow list across devices.
Does MeTube remove ads?
MeTube does not inject its own ads. Any ads shown are determined by YouTube’s playback and policies.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account from within the app. Deletion removes your account and followed channels from the MeTube service.
